One common MIDI application is to play a MIDI or other controller and use it to trigger a digital (which contains synthesized musical sounds) to generate sounds, which the audience hears produced by a. When a musician plays a MIDI instrument, all of the key presses, button presses, knob turns and slider changes are converted into MIDI data. This could be sixteen different digital instruments, for example.MIDI carries event messages, data that specify the instructions for music, including a note's, (which is heard typically as loudness or softness of volume), to the right or left of stereo, and (which set ). Of course the laborious workaround is that you could "import" midi data by piping it from an external midi player into the midi in port and recording the sequence, and vice versa "export" by recording midi note data to a DAW etc by hooking up the device's midi out to your PC and then saving the resultant midi file.A single MIDI link through a MIDI cable can carry up to sixteen channels of information, each of which can be routed to a separate device or instrument. I wouldn't be particularly hopeful at this early stage however. It looks like in their terminology each sequence is called a "clip", which comprises both a "tone" (the synth/drum sound settings) and a "phrase" (the note and motion data) - the phrase is probably the closest thing to a midi file that it has, so perhaps some details of "phrase" export/import may yet surface and if so, some clever person might be able to figure out how to convert between those files and regular midi files if they aren't already the same thing. Thanks in advance.Good question, looking at the reference manual there doesn't seem to be any mention of it so possibly not. Is it possible to import midi in mc 707(may be through inbuilt function), or i have to play a midi keyboard and record it in mc 707 or something like tr-rec(like in mc 909)? This feature always saves my time, allowing me to focus on live play(before that i prepare some smf stuff in my daw on PC). I am the lucky owner of the mc 909, and it sequencer is fully compatible with Standard MIDI Files, allowing you to import and export SMF sequences via the built-in USB port. Hi guys (this is my first post and I'm very sorry for the possibly stupid or/and newbie question ).i think about buying this device, and i read the manual, and cannot find anything about smf(midi) support.
